Draft versus Draft, OilBaron v. Oilers Scouts 2010 Edition

My first pick is Tyler Seguin at #1, I've been a Seguin guy for a while I can't change that now and look like a deadbeat. He's the franchise center with size and a right shot that we desperately need. Edmonton Oilers take Taylor Hall. It's hard to quibble with two players so close in offense. Maybe Hall will be a center here in the end.

#31 Alexander Petrovic. He's a big defenseman with a mean streak we haven't had since Beukeboom and Smith were the twin towers. He won't give you a ton of offense, but he's a versatile player. Edmonton Oilers select center Tyler Pitlick; I despise taking NCAA players especially those wanting to flip flop into the Canadian Hockey League.

#46 Tyler Toffoli. He's a bigger center with skills; I can't stress enough the lack of center depth in Edmonton. Edmonton Oilers select defenseman Martin Marincin, a big Slovak defenseman.

#48 Calle Jarnkrok. A Swedish center that is a little slight but fits the Swedish them we have going. He's also a right handed shot. Edmonton Oilers select Curtis Hamilton. A sizeable winger, a good selection but I'm looking at things differently.

#61 Ryan Martindale. In this case this is a match. I do like Brock Beukeboom, but I could use the big center from Ottawa

#91 Brandon Archibald. He is a big defenseman from the Soo. Edmonton Oilers select defenseman Jeremie Blain.

#121 Troy Rutkowski. He's a big talented defenseman from Portland via his home town of Edmonton. Edmonton Oilers select Tyler Bunz, a goalie from St. Albert.

#162 Brandon Davidson, this matches the Oilers pick. He is a bigger defenseman from Regina.

#166 Mark Stone. He's a big gritty RW from Brandon. Edmonton Oilers select LW Drew Czerwonka, tough to go against my original junior team favourite.

#181 Cam Lanigan. He's a goalie from the Edmonton Oil Kings. Edmonton Oilers select Latvian Kristians Pelss.

#202 Josh Caron. He's a hulking heavyweight fighter in Kamloops. He's probably the WHL heavyweight champ. Edmonton Oilers select Kellen Jones of the Vernon Vipers.
